  2. Request a Quote: Fill out our online quote request form or call us directly to discuss your specific needs, including custom modifications or special delivery requirements.

We offer a wide range of shipping containers to suit various needs:

Container TypeCommon Uses
20ft StandardSmall-scale storage, job site offices, tool sheds, or personal storage.
40ft StandardLarge-scale storage, retail pop-up shops, workshops, or multi-room conversions.
40ft High CubeOffers an extra foot of height (9’6″ vs. 8’6″). Ideal for living spaces, commercial offices, or storage requiring maximum volume.
Cargo WorthyContainers in excellent structural condition suitable for shipping overseas or long-term heavy-duty storage.
Wind & Water TightStructurally sound containers that are fully weatherproof. Perfect for storage or modifications. May have cosmetic dents or surface rust.
Refrigerated (Reefer) ContainersTemperature-controlled units for cold storage or climate-sensitive goods.

“Wind and Water Tight” is the industry standard for used shipping containers. It means the container is structurally sound and fully weatherproof. The doors seal properly, the roof does not leak, and the floor is intact.

What it does NOT mean: It does not mean the container is cosmetically perfect. Used containers will have surface rust, minor dents, scratches, and typical wear-and-tear from their years of ocean travel. If you require a container with a pristine appearance, please inquire about our “One-Trip” or “Grade A” containers.

  • Cargo Worthy (CWO): These containers are certified to be structurally sound enough to be stacked at sea and transported internationally. They have stricter structural requirements and are typically in better overall condition.

  • Wind & Water Tight (WWT): These containers are fully weatherproof and structurally sound for stationary use (storage, modifications, etc.) but may not meet the strict international shipping certification requirements. They are an excellent, more affordable option for property storage.

Yes! We offer a range of customization services at our yard before delivery. Common modifications include:

  • Cutting and installing windows and doors.

  • Adding insulation, electrical wiring, and lighting.

  • Interior wall framing and finishing.

  • Custom paint colors and protective coatings.

  • Installation of shelving, locking mechanisms, and ventilation.

Please note: Custom orders require a significant non-refundable deposit and have longer lead times (typically 2–6 weeks). Any modifications made after delivery are entirely your responsibility and may void any return eligibility.

To provide you with an accurate delivery quote, we need the following details:

  • The type and quantity of containers you are purchasing.

  • The full delivery address (street, city, state, zip code).

  • Any specific site conditions (e.g., gated community, narrow roads, overhead wires, steep driveways, soft ground).

  • Your preferred delivery date (if you have one).

  • Whether you require a forklift, crane, or flatbed delivery based on your site access.

Delivery timelines vary based on your location, the size of your order, and our current schedule:

AreaEstimated Delivery Window
Local (Within 50 miles of our yard)3 to 7 business days after full payment clears.
Regional (50 – 150 miles)5 to 10 business days after full payment clears.
Long-Distance / Interstate7 to 14 business days after full payment clears.
Custom/Modified Orders2 to 6 weeks from deposit confirmation.

All delivery windows are estimates and are not guaranteed. We will contact you 48 hours in advance to confirm a specific date and 2-hour time window.

To ensure a smooth and successful delivery, you must:

  • Be Present: An adult (18+) must be on-site to sign the Bill of Lading.

  • Ensure Clearance: Provide a minimum of 14–16 feet of vertical clearance (no low-hanging wires or branches) and at least 12 feet of horizontal clearance.

  • Provide a Solid Surface: The drop-off area must be firm, level, and dry. Soft ground, mud, sand, or steep slopes may prevent offloading.

  • Clear Obstacles: Remove parked cars, gates, fences, or debris from the delivery path.

  • Obtain Permits: You are responsible for any required municipal permits or HOA approvals.

If these requirements are not met, the driver will abort the delivery, and you will be charged a re-delivery fee.

If your property has access restrictions (e.g., narrow roads, low bridges, gated communities with height restrictions, or extremely steep driveways), please inform us before placing your order.

In some cases, we may be able to use a smaller “Moffett” truck (a truck with a mounted forklift) or a crane to place the container. In other cases, we may need to deliver to the nearest accessible point (e.g., the end of your driveway or street) and you will be responsible for moving the container to its final position using your own equipment.

We can deliver to sites with gravel, dirt, or unpaved roads, provided the ground is dry and firm. Heavy rain can soften ground conditions, making it unsafe for our heavy-haul trucks to enter without getting stuck.

If we arrive and the ground is too soft, we will abort the delivery for safety reasons, and you will be responsible for the re-delivery fee. We recommend scheduling deliveries during dry weather if your site is unpaved.

If no authorized adult (18+) is present to sign for the delivery, the driver will abort the delivery and return the container to our yard.

You will be responsible for:

  • The full standard outbound delivery fee.

  • A re-delivery fee to attempt a second drop-off.

  • Any applicable storage fees while the container awaits re-delivery.

We highly recommend providing us with a backup contact person who can receive the delivery on your behalf if you are unavailable.

The Bill of Lading (BOL) is a legal document provided by the carrier that serves as:

  1. A Receipt: Proof that the container was delivered to you.

  2. A Contract: It outlines the terms of the carriage.

  3. A Condition Report: It is your only opportunity to note any damage or discrepancies.

Crucial: You must inspect the container thoroughly before signing the BOL. If you note damage on the BOL and take photos, you protect your ability to file a claim. If you sign a “clean” BOL (without exceptions) and the driver leaves, you have legally accepted the container “as-is,” and we cannot accept subsequent damage claims.

Absolutely. We welcome local pickup at our yard. If you choose to pick up your container:

  • You must have your own trailer or flatbed capable of safely transporting a 20ft or 40ft container.

  • You must have your own equipment (or hire a local crane/forklift) to load the container onto your trailer.

  • Payment must be made in full before the container is released.

  • A representative must be present to inspect the container and sign a release form.

We do not offer international shipping directly. However, we frequently assist customers who are exporting containers overseas. We can deliver your container to the port of your choice (e.g., Port of Houston, Port of Savannah, Port of Long Beach).

You are responsible for:

  • All port fees, wharfage, and demurrage charges.

  • Customs clearance, export documentation, and ISF filings.

  • Arranging the crane to offload the container from our trailer at the port.

  • Your freight forwarding arrangements.

We do not offer real-time GPS tracking for container deliveries. However, we will provide you with the following:

  • Scheduling Notification: We will call or email you 48 hours before the scheduled delivery date.

  • Day-of Confirmation: The driver will call you approximately 30 to 60 minutes before arriving.

  • Carrier Contact: Upon request, we can provide you with the carrier’s phone number so you can coordinate directly.

Safety is our top priority. If weather conditions (heavy rain, snow, ice, high winds, or flooding) make it unsafe for our drivers or equipment, we will reschedule your delivery to the next available safe date.

We will notify you as soon as possible of any weather-related delays. No refunds or credits will be issued for weather delays, as they are classified as “Force Majeure” events beyond our control.

If you need to swap an item

Returns and Exchanges

Due to the heavy, oversized nature of shipping containers and the high costs associated with transporting them, LM Riders LLC operates a limited return and refund policy.

  • Containers sold under a specific grade (e.g., “Cargo Worthy,” “Wind & Water Tight”) are eligible for limited remedies only if they do not match the described condition.

  • Containers sold “As-Is” are final sale and are not eligible for returns, refunds, or exchanges under any circumstances.

  • The only opportunity to reject a container is during the delivery inspection before signing the Bill of Lading. Once signed, the container is legally accepted “as-is.”

No. We do not accept returns for “change of mind,” incorrect sizing, or failure to obtain permits or HOA approval. You are responsible for ensuring the container meets your requirements before placing your order.

We strongly recommend measuring your space and confirming clearance requirements with our team before purchasing. If you are unsure, we are happy to provide guidance.

Yes, but cancellation timelines affect your refund eligibility:

Cancellation TimingRefund Eligibility
Within 24 hours of placing the deposit. You are entitled to a full refund of your deposit.
After 24 hours but before delivery is scheduled.Your deposit is non-refundable. It covers inventory holding and restocking costs.
After delivery has been scheduled or dispatched. No refund is available. You are responsible for the full delivery fee and return freight charges.
After delivery has been completed and signed for.No refund is available except in cases of material non-conformance (see FAQ 2.4).

Refunds after delivery are only issued in the following limited circumstances:

  1. Wrong Grade Delivered: You ordered a “Cargo Worthy” container but received a lower-grade “Wind & Water Tight” container. We will issue a partial refund representing the price difference between the grades.

  2. Undisclosed Major Structural Damage: The container has significant structural damage (e.g., major holes, severe floor rot, or frame damage) that was not disclosed in the pre-sale condition report and renders the container unusable.

  3. Failure to Deliver: We fail to deliver the container to the agreed-upon address within 14 days past the estimated delivery window through no fault of your own.

Action Required: In all cases, you must note the issue on the Bill of Lading at delivery and contact us within 48 hours with dated photos.

If you believe you are eligible for a refund, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact Us Immediately: Email us at [sales@lmridersllc.com] or call us at [+1 (475) 276-5352] within 48 hours of delivery.

  2. Provide Documentation: Include your order number, a detailed explanation of the issue, and dated photos of the container showing the discrepancy or damage.

  3. Wait for Review: We will review your claim and respond within 5 business days. In some cases, we may request an independent third-party inspection at our discretion.

  4. Approval & Processing: If approved, refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 7 to 10 business days.

You have the right to refuse delivery if the container does not match the ordered grade or has significant undisclosed damage.

If you refuse delivery:

  • You must clearly write your reason for refusal on the Bill of Lading.

  • The container will be returned to our yard.

  • You are responsible for the outbound delivery fee.

  • If the refusal is due to our error (e.g., wrong grade), we will refund the container price (minus the delivery fee).

  • If the refusal is for any other reason (e.g., change of mind), your deposit is forfeited.

The following fees may apply to cancellations, returns, or aborted deliveries:

Fee TypeAmountApplicable Scenario
Deposit Forfeiture25% – 50% of the purchase priceCanceling after 24 hours but before delivery.
Restocking Fee20% of the purchase priceDeducted from any refund for a returned container (rare cases).

Return Freight FeeFull cost of return transportCharged if the container is returned to our yard after dispatch.
Re-Delivery Fee$150 – $350 (varies by distance)Charged for failed delivery attempts (access issues, no one present, etc.).
Storage Fee$25.00 per dayCharged if the container is held at our yard beyond the agreed pickup/delivery date.

We do not offer direct exchanges due to the logistical complexity and high transport costs.

If you require a different container, the process is:

  1. Accept delivery of the original container (or refuse it at the curb).

  2. Place a new, separate order for the desired container.

  3. The fate of your original order will be governed by the cancellation and refund provisions outlined in this policy.

Refunds and returns are never issued for the following reasons:

  • Cosmetic imperfections (minor dents, surface rust, scratches).

  • Delivery access issues (low clearance, soft ground, narrow roads, permits not obtained).

  • Post-delivery modifications (welding, cutting, painting, or insulating done by you or a third party).

  • Failure to secure HOA approvals or municipal permits.

  • Damage caused by severe weather (storms, fallen trees, flooding) after the container is on your property.

  • “As-Is” container purchases.

  • Title and Risk of Loss: As outlined in our Terms and Conditions, risk of loss passes to you the moment the container is loaded onto the delivery truck at our yard (FOB Origin).

  • Carrier Responsibility: We use licensed, insured carriers. If the container is damaged during transit, we will assist you in filing a claim against the carrier’s insurance.

  • Your Duty: You must note the damage on the Bill of Lading, take dated photos, and contact us within 24 hours. If you sign a “clean” BOL, the carrier is released from liability.

Approved refunds are typically processed within 7 to 10 business days of our approval notification.

Please note:

  • Credit card refunds may take an additional 3–5 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your financial institution.

  • Wire transfer refunds may take 1–3 business days to clear.

We do not offer express warranties beyond our grading system (e.g., Cargo Worthy, Wind & Water Tight). Our refund and return policy is your sole remedy for any issues with your container.

If you purchase a new “One-Trip” container, the original manufacturer may provide a separate warranty. We will assist you in filing manufacturer warranty claims where applicable, but we are not responsible for enforcing third-party warranties.

If you receive a container that does not match the size (e.g., you ordered a 20ft but received a 40ft) or grade you ordered, this is considered a material error on our part.

Action Required:

  1. Refuse the Delivery: Do not sign the Bill of Lading. Note “Wrong Container Delivered” on the BOL.

  2. Contact Us Immediately: Call us while the driver is still on-site.

  3. Resolution: We will arrange to pick up the incorrect container and deliver the correct one to you as soon as possible at no additional cost to you.

No. All custom or modified containers (e.g., containers with added doors, windows, insulation, electrical, or custom paint) are final sale and cannot be returned or refunded for any reason except in the case of gross manufacturing defect.

Because modifications are made specifically to your unique specifications, we cannot resell them. Please ensure you are certain about your modification requirements before placing your order.

If your container is new and comes with a manufacturer’s warranty, and you experience a manufacturing defect:

  1. Contact us immediately at [sales@lmridersllc.com] or [+1 (475) 276-5352].

  2. Provide detailed photos and a description of the issue.

  3. We will submit the warranty claim to the manufacturer on your behalf.

  4. The manufacturer will determine if the issue is covered and arrange for a repair or replacement. We are not responsible for the manufacturer’s decision or the timeline of their resolution.
